A. ABOUT INBA SECTION FOR LAW STUDENTS-

INBA is keenly focused on taking the Indian legal industry and its members to newer
heights. Representing the entire Legal ecosystem in India, INBA is dedicated to
expanding its member’s professional network and industry insight.

The Section for Law Students draws on its rich cultural diversity to offer students a
distinctive membership experience, which bridges the gap between disparate legal
jurisdictions. Section for Law Students is governed by an Executive Committee, which
comprises a team of dedicated law students, whose unflagging efforts in organizing
projects enrich the career of law students in India. The Executive Committee is assisted
by Research & Editorial Committee, D&P Committee, Reporters Committee, Members
Welfare Committee, Campus Ambassadors, other INBA Sections and INBA core team,
whose indefatigable efforts and unwavering support have ensured that Section for Law
Students has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception.

II. ABOUT RESEARCH & EDITORIAL COMMITTEE-

The Research and Editorial Committee of Indian National Bar Association is a student-run team of
legal researchers, editors, and drafters. It aims at producing top-notch legal researchers and
provides research and drafting support to the Ministries and Public institutions.

III. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Drafting legal articles and documents as and when necessary;


· Conducting legal research on the assigned projects;
· Representing INBA Section for Law Students at their respective college;
· Working in accordance with the objectives of the committee and performing the assigned
tasks;
· Proofreading and vetting the the logical flow of articles vis-a-vis grammar, language
consistency and adherence to the guidelines;
· Thinking out-of-the-box and undertaking steps for student welfare within the framework of
the policy of INBA;
· Assisting the team in organizing moot court competitions, conferences, seminars, debate
and other events;
· Sending monthly report of tasks performed to Chair and Vice-Chair of the committee.

IV. EXPECTATIONS FROM AN IDEAL CANDIDATE-

• Devoting 4-5 hours a week to the work of the committee


• Excellent drafting, researching and inter-personal skills
• Well versedwith footnoting and citations (Bluebook, OSCOLA)
• Honesty and reliability
• Strict adherence to timelines
• Well acquainted with all the prevailing legal issues and news
• Updated knowledge of contempt, defamation and privacy laws
• Providing reports within the deadline without plagiarism and with good proficiency

V. ELIGIBILITY-
• Any student who has completed first year of a five-year law course / first year of a three-year law
course, from a university/college recognized by the Bar Council of India, is eligible to apply. A
student pursuing an LLM Programme from a college/university recognized by the Bar Council of
India may also apply.

• Prior experience in organizing/managing/directing/volunteering educational, technical or cultural


event.

VI. APPLICATION PROCEDURE-

Application must be accompanied by a 300-500 word write-up on any of the prevailing legal issues
or any legal research report.

Please note that all the positions are unpaid and voluntary in nature. Last Day for receiving

VII. SELECTION PROCEDURE-


The selection procedure shall entail:

• Screening of the CV, Cover Letter and the write-up submitted;


• Telephonic Interview
