HOW TO PREPARE AN INTERVIEW IN ENGLISH.

1- Good morning Miguel . Nice to meet you.

Good morning Miguel . Nice to meet you.

Miguel : Good morning, it’s nice to meet you too.

Well, come with me. Have a seat.

Miguel: Yes, thanks.

Tell me a little bit abaut yourself.

Well, I’m 30 years old and I’m from Columbia I graduated there at the Piloto University of
Girardot as an Administrador de Empresas in the year 2010. When I finished my studies I
started working at a company dedicated to the distribution of medical equipment, and I’ve
worked on this sector ever since.

2- Very well. I’ve read your resume and I see you have the proper skills for this position. But
tell me a little bit more about the work you did at your previous company.
Of course. As you can see, I’ve always worked at companies that distribute or
manufacture medical equipment, and on my previous job I was fully dedicated to the
commission of magnetic resonance devices as well as their maintenance.

3- Why did you leave your job?

When I was first hired, the job and growth expectations were quite attractive. But
after a few years in the company, things changed, and I couldn’t get to progress as I
would’ve liked.

4- What do you know about our company?

Well, it’s a company I’ve known for many years; you’re well-known in the industry for
the quality of your work and products. You work at an international level and I’m quite
familiar with your product catalogue. I know you’ve recently been granted an important
contract by five new hospitals.

5- Why do you want to work for us?

I believe I could fit quite well in this expansion process that your company is
undergoing. I like the way you manufacture your products, and for what I’ve read
about your company policy, I’d feel quite comfortable working here.

6- Why should we hire you? When I read your job offering, I saw you were looking
for a person with experience in the maintenance of medical equipment, and I’ve
worked for 5 years on the verification and commissioning of cutting-edge models,
so I could be working at full capacity from day one.
7- Do you have any questions? Well, I’d like to know how working hours are
arranged.
8- What Is Your Greatest Strength? Proactive: "I am a proactive person, in the last
year I have been studying three new methods of organization that would improve
the productivity of a company within the work" or "If a problem arises, I find the
solution quickly"

Responsible: "I am a responsible person, in my family we have a restaurant and I am

in charge of opening and closing every weekend" or "I can not take on new tasks and
fulfill them; in fact I am in charge of a group of volunteers in an organization "

Organized: "I am organized and I always carry, not only my agenda, but that of my
friends" or "In my last practices they commissioned me all a documentation work of
all the audiovisual files of the company".

9- What Is Your Greatest Weakness? I have a hard time staying organized. But I had
to learn how to do so. Thanks to a good time management system, I’m always able to
keep my tasks up to date.”
10- What did you like or dislike about your previous job? My ex-boss could be a
real curmudgeon sometimes, but in the end, working for him made my skills
with the audience much stronger. "
