Acknowledgement

This project bears the imprint of many people. The first and foremost I seek
the blessing of my parents who keep lot of expectations on me. The home
environment is a major factor which influences our work I am extremely
grateful to them for giving me all moral support.

I also wish to extend my appreciation to the management and staff of my

college especially the HR Professor Mr. Daryl Cabrall for giving me such a good
opportunity to work on a great topic.

I express my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Seema Rao, HR Manager of IndiQuest

Research Services who enabled me to understand the concept of Training &
Deelopment in their organization. Also, I would like to thank the employees
from all the departments who took part in this research and helped me
complete it successfully. This project would not have been possible but for the
support and co-operation extended by the manager as well as the employees.
This is gratefully acknowledged.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

1) To study the Training & Development Scenario in IndiQuest Research
Services
2) To find out whether the empoloyees bnefit out of the training imparted to
them.
Company Profile
IndiQuest provides cutting edge research, analyses and consultancy services to clients across
various industries. We emphasize on providing quality research services through a team of
skilled research analysts at competitive rates.

History
Established in 1999, IndiQuest was formerly known as Business Information Group (BIG) and
functioned as a captive research and knowledge unit exploring business opportunities for
Agilisys and its group companies. Following the high success rate of the opportunities
explored by the team, in 2005 BIG was spun off into an independent business entity and
renamed as IndiQuest. We now provide our research expertise to clients outside the core
group. IndiQuest has been actively funded by ND Investments and is a fully-owned
subsidiary of Agilisys Ltd.

Parent Company
Agilisys is a premier UK-based IT and business process service provider, transforming the
way its clients deliver services to their customers through the use of strategic, affordable,
shared service platforms. Providing solutions for the public as well as the private sector over
the years, Agilisys has developed a strong reputation and possesses strong domain expertise
within the local government, travel and tourism, retail financial services and healthcare
sectors.

Our Offices
IndiQuest is headquartered in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, and has its marketing
and sales division in India and the UK.

Business Research
IndiQuest offers an exhaustive range of products and services integral to a company's
business. The services offered by us focus on attributes vital to a company's successful
execution of operations. These attributes are profiled and analysed for actionable
information which can add value to our client's strategic plans. Our services are flexible
enough to suit client requirements, in that they can be customised to include one or many
of the above services.

Consulting (Custom Research)

Our customised research and consultancy services encompass studies to evaluate
investment and expansion options in a country and explore business opportunities within a
particular sector. Such recommendations backed by strong and credible research help our
clients in identifying opportunities and assist in their strategic decision making processes.
Our consultation services harness the experience of our industry experts and deliver
direction to a company's operational strengths.

Support Services
We also provide support services like Data Aggregation and Representation on spreadsheets
and powerpoint, Workshop Materials and Report Writing.

Research Methodology
Sample size:

A total number of 20 people from IndiQuest Research Services volunteered to take

part in this study. The employees are males and females between 25- 58 years of age.

Procedure:

I mailed the typed questionnaire to 30 employees and collected data accordingly for
further analysis from their responses. Spoke to the HR manager first and took her
permission to do the same. The mails were sent through her to the employees.

Limitations:

 As the methodology adopted was a time-consuming process, the responses

from the employees took a lot of time to come.
 Individual responses cannot be controlled and monitored. As the human
aspect involved, the responses undergo a change after a certain period of
time. This could be attributed to the change that the individual undergo due
to the social conditioning.
 I have tried my best to attain accuracy in responses but difference of
discrepancy that exists between what people say and what accuracy exists.

Recommendations
 It has been observed that there is a lot attrition rate in this company primarily
because employee care is not taken in terms of the professional growth as well as
monetary growth. IndiQuest should take care of the professional growth of the
employees to increase and polish their skill sets to help them perform the job in an
appropriate and an efficient way.

 From the response, I found out that the staff itself is not interested in the training
that is been provided to them because then they have to work overtime to complete
their job which leads to stress. To avoid this, the company should keep training
sessions on different days and it should only be kept dedicated to training.

 External Training is used more in this company rather than employing Job Rotation
or Job Enrichment method. Job Rotation should be employed more so that the
employee knows what skills he has to use on the job and can learnt it on the job
itself.

 While giving training, enough practice should be given to the employees to master
that particular thing that they have learnt. Skills cannot be acquired in a week’s time
so it is very important to give a chance to the employees to practice it until they are
clear or else there is no use of training.

 Employees are skeptical about the usefulness of the training given to them. Hence,
the employees should be asked in which field of their work maximum training is
required to make it more useful and effective.
 Though training sessions are undertaken, employees feel that it is boring to attend
the same. This is because the training place is not well maintained and it is not
conducive for the same. It should be made sure that the sessions are made lively. It
depends on the trainer also to a great extent.

 Employees feel that only a few objectives are met after the training for which the
training was organized. This means that the Training module that is organized is not
tuned according to the objectives of that particular session. Again, practical
application is very necessary.

 A very important hurdle in this company is the lack of good quality staff. This is
because of lack of guidance and the training at the workplace. Investment should be
done more in this which will reap results.
