RTC 8 HOLDS INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING

AT LIMASAWA ISLAND

Aimed to strengthen camaraderie and unity among employees, RTC 8


holds a two-day Institutional Strengthening Activities at Limasawa Island,
Southern Leyte on June 1-2, 2017.

Attended by all Uniformed and Non-Uniformed Personnel of RTC 8,


the activities was held at the Limasawa Island where Ferdinand Magellan
held the first ever Catholic Mass in the Philippines. The activities composed
of parlor games and other group actions, started at around 1:30 o’clock in
the afternoon of June 1, 2017 with an Opening Prayer followed by the
Welcome Address given by TS1 Nilo M De Veyra, Chief, Administrative
Branch.

After the parlor games, the group proceeded to the National Shrine of
the First Mass in the Philippines situated in the said island to have a glimpse
of the famous historical place.

Before the day ended, a two-hour Bible Reflection themed as


“Teamwork” was conducted at the Evashore Resort Function Hall. Said
activity was facilitated by Pastor Gamaliel Aliposa and Pastor Douglas
Macalalag of Bless our COPs Program of the PNP, emphasizing therein
some Bible verses relating to teamwork and unity, how it will improve the
quality of work and likewise its contribution to attaining a conducive and
productive work environment. Before the session ended, participants were
given the chance to reflect on themselves and write on a piece of paper their
emotional, psychological and spiritual baggages and negative traits that
hinders them to work efficiently and effectively and burn them to let go all of
those negative traits.

The next day, the group continued its activities and in the afternoon
went home bringing with them new experiences and a renewed self ready
to face and serve its clientele with enthusiasm and to work as a “TEAM” in
all its endeavors.
PPSC RTC 8 personnel enjoys the series of teambuilding activities
during the 2-day Institutional Strengthening held at Evashore Resort,
Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte on June 1 – 2, 2017.
NPTI Director Graces Recognition Rites of PSBRC CL KASANGGA

PCSUPT JOSE ERWIN T VILLACORTE, Director of National Police


Training Institute graced the Recognition Rites of the PSBRC Class 2016-02
“KASANGGA” as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
The activity started with the showcase of skills that the class had been
honing for the past months such as Handcuffing Techniques, Pistol Exercise,
Close Quarter Battle and Civil Disturbance Management.
Thereafter, recognition proper followed with PCSUPT VILLACORTE
heading the opening of collars and rolling of sleeves of the 394 newly
recognized and full-pledged members of the Philippine National Police.
In his speech, PCSUPT VILLACORTE emphasized that only good
practices of being a Police Officer should be learned and applied and
reminded the recruits that they should not contribute to the problems but be
part of the solution to the problems the country is presently facing. He further
stressed that Police Officers should also be graceful in accepting mistakes
and should learn from it, because character and values make up a better
police officer.
After the rites, the NPTI Director had a simple and meaningful dialogue
with the RTC8 Training Staff and class officers of the PSSLC, PSJLC and
PSBRC. The discussion focused on finding solutions to issues and concerns
raised by the training staff and students.
