Particle Size Distribution (PSD-test) .
Particle Size Distribution (PSD-test) .
Particle Size Distribution (PSD-test) has been done by using CDC machine, samples taken at before
CDC test and after CDC test, the value of 1 times the pressure equal to 16 tons, with a total pressure
is 32-39 pressure (Table 1), then the sample was dried in the oven and the material tested was 200
gr, the material was tested using a sieve shaker with a total of 15 sieve and has a sieve size (8.0mm-
63 μm). And determine the value with some percentage determination of grain weight on one sieve
unit with a specific hole diameter size.

According to American Society for Testing and Materials Standars D114054 and D42263 (AMSTM
1964a, 1964b) provide a basic tetsting and reporting methode whereby the result of sieve analysis
have been thoroughly above (figure 2). From the data have been analyzed using sieve shaker we
can determine the soil characteristics based on the distribution of the particles by using uniformity
coefficient (Cu), based on the calculation value of (Cu) in (table 2) obtained the distribution of the
material that is gravel to sand, whereas the analysis of the grain size distribution curve (figure 2) can
be interpreted as uniformity soil gradations, that is the distribution of the particles is relatively the
same. It is also supported from relatively obtained materials having the same size (figure 1).
