Section specifies the basic requirements of mechanical equipment, mechanical systems, piping systems, process gas systems, and process liquid systems, including the receiving, unloading, storage, installaion, pre-operational service, and startup for systems and equipment includad in Divisions 13, 21, 22, 23, and 40, B. Work to be provided under this Section includes permanent and temporary equipment and material to complete the work, which may include furnishing, delivering, unloading, handling, storing, protecting, erecting, adjusting, cleaning, and testing of equipment, materials, tools, and apparatus which are required for the systems indicated on Drawings, 1D. Systems shall be complete and capable of operating as indicated on the Drawings and ‘88 described in the specifications. E. _Gontractor's Responsibilities: 1. Examine existing conditions including related work and compare to the Contract, Documents, Prior to commencement of work, review pecullarties and limitations of workspace available for installation of materials and equipment furnished and installed. Altitude Above Sea Level: refer to Section 01 80 13 Project Site Design Criteria, 1.3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS A. Oblain permits and arrange inspections required by codes applicable to this Section ‘Submit witien evidence to EMPLOYER that requirements of permits, inspections, and codes have been satisfied. 1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Shipping 1. Provide shipping per equipment specification sections for each type of equipment. Itis the responsibilty of the manufacturer to protect the equipment for the method of shipment. 2. If shipment of equipment includes ocean vessel, manufacturer shall deliver equipment wit factory installed protective crating and wrapped in seaworthy and watertight packaging for ocean shipping. Coordinate delivery dates with the Contractor prior to shipment. B. Delivery and Handling 1. Receive materials and equipment, inciuding Own as required 2. Unload produets in accordance with manufacturers instructions for unloading or 185 specified. Record receipt of products at Site. Promptiy inspect for completeness and evidence of damage during shipment. 3. Inspect for damage and for compliance with Specifications. 4, Remove damaged products from Site and expedite delivery of identical new ‘undamaged products. Remedy incomplete or lost products to provide items ‘specified so Work Is not delayed. 5. Leave protective wrappings, coatings, and covers in place. Provide materials and accessories noted in the manufacturer's documentation that are Fequired for installation of the described equipment but are not furnished by the equipment manufacturer, Manufacturer's documentation may include, but is nat limited 1, certified equipment drawings and installation instructions. Provide proper quantities and grades of lubricant, chemicals, and appropriate media required to lubricate, clean, and test equipment and prepare equipment for intial operation. Provide specific fuids required for testing and startup of equipment in accordance with ‘manufacturers instructions. Fumish such fluids in quantities and volumes recommended by the equipment manufacturers. Erection Equipment 1. Provide and maintain equipment required to transport, erect, and install ‘equipment. 2. Prepare equipment for startup utiizing materials and methods recommended by the equipment manufacturer. For each item of equipment installed, submit to EMPLOYER, for approval prior to testing and pre-operational service, a detailed written plan for pre-operational testing, startup, and commissioning. EMPLOYER approval and signoff is required before testing and pre-operational testing commences. The Contractor is responsible to involve equipment manufacturers in preparing plans. The instaling contractor, with assistance from the equipment manufacturers’ representatives, is responsible for executing each approved commissioning plan, For each equipment item, after installation and startup services are complete, submit to EMPLOYER written certification of correct. installation, code conformance, completion of satisfactory testing in accordance with this Article, completion of approved commissioning plan, and readiness for tum-over to (Owner and commencement of operation. Service Provided by or Responsibility of Contractor Conform to requirements of individual equipment specifications. EMPLOYER will identify equipment and systems for which onsite manufacturer's startup assistance is required.
