Ateliers Francois (40 Bar – PET) Compressor:

These compressors have the ability to increase the pressure of the fluid upto 40 bar but
they do this in different stages. Mostly, the compressors of this type work in three stages and are
L-shaped. The motor coupled with them is from 37 to 550Kw. The fluids have flowrates upto 4800
m^3/hr.

Working:
AF compressors are of reciprocating type. They have crankshaft which is coupled with the
shaft of motor and have the rotational speed in the range (400 to 670) rpm. First stage is double
acting while the remaining two stages are single acting. Air filter is present to remove the dust
and contaminants from the incoming air. They have water pumps to cool the compressed air in
the heat exchanger. Oil pumps are also present to lubricate the crankshaft assembly for smooth
piston movement and where the supply of water is not possible for cooling. Pressure ranges in
first stage is from 3 to 4 bar. Second stage have ranges upto 15 bar and last stage have ranges
upto 40 bar.
Continental Plastic Industries:
In continental plastics, two type of AF compressors were installed, one with L-shape and
other with I-shape. I-shaped are now outdated because of their less efficiency and pressure
increase as compared to L-shaped compressors. This industry has blowing machines installed to
provide bottles to different beverage industries.
Pak China Polymer
In this Plant Plastic bottles produce for fertilizers by means of blowing machine. For
blowing machine Air Compressor of Ateliers Francois (40 Bar) is installed in this plant.
Purpose of Visit:
For Checking of Compressor Performance Condition and take values on it and make
report.
Working:
Plant is not working when we visit the plant as material is finished which is used in blowing
machine for blow so compressor is also not working. We on the compressor and take values of
Inlet and outlet temperatures and different compartments temperature and pressure vale and
complete report about it.
Coca-Cola Beverages:
In this we visit the plant where syrup and glycol are cooled in refrigeration cycle by means of
ammonia liquid. Here Compressors are also installed for ammonia. Multiple Ammonia
compressor attached in parallel and monitored in Chiller room where all compressors working
shows on Display. Refrigeration Cycle in this plant consist of:
1. Liquid receiver
2. Evaporator
3. Compressors
4. Condenser

Purpose of Visit:
To replace the PLC of one Compressors with the other PLC as previously it is replaced as
one of compressor is not working properly and one PLC is not working properly. Now we change
PLC of Compressors and attach with it their real ones as other compressor also works now after
maintenance.
Nestle:
In Nestle we visit the compressor room for water plant here ATLIERS FRANCOIS 40 bar
compressor of 200kW and 55kW with dryers are installed. I also visit water Plant in which There
is a blowing machine and Siedal water line. Blowing machine by using material makes the bottle.
For this first heat the material then passing it from oven and then stretch it. First air comes from
10 bar compressor which blow it little than from 40 bar air compressor air blow it fully. Then this
bottle goes in line where its filling, capping and labeling is performed.
Purpose of Visit(Problem):
To Check the Dryer as its Temperature is not coming at lower value.
Working:
Here After opening Dryer we set the gas Setting valve after checking several things so
then Temperature is coming low to 7 °C to 8 °C. Before setting the temperature is about 30 °C to
35 °C. After this we also make full report on working of compressors in which on marking sheet
note the temperature and pressure values which is demanded in the sheet.
Reason:
The reason for higher temperature we find out is Plant water for cooling is not properly
cooled it as its Temperature is more than its normal temperature which it has to be. So basically
there is a problem in a cooling tower due to which dryer temperature not coming at lower value.
