MAASAI MARA OVER VIEW

Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is known as Africa’s greatest wildlife reserve, situated in the
southwest Kenya. Famous for the abundant lions, the Great wildebeest migration, where
over 1 million wildebeest and zebras follow annual migration route from Serengeti to
Masai Mara and the Maasai people well known for their distinctive custom and dress, it is
without a doubt one of the most famous safari destination.

Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510sq km (580sq miles) and is 1,500-2,170
meters above sea level. The terrain of the reserve is primarily grassland and riverine
forest with clumps of the acacia trees. It’s about 270km from the capital city Nairobi and
takes 5-6hrs by road or 45 minutes by flight.
The Masai Mara Ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in the world and this
is where over two million wildebeest, zebra and Thompsons Gazelle migrate annually. Its
host’s over 95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of birds. This is
considered the 7th wonder of the world.

The cost below include transport in an open roof tour van from Nairobi, accommodation
in the hotel of your choice, meals on full board and comprehensive game drives with a
professional tour guide.

Trip itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi- Masai Mara

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi at 7.00 am and head southward to the viewpoint of the
Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara. Arriving in the afternoon, have lunch and Check in.
Then proceed to the park for afternoon game drives at 1600hrs to 1800hrs followed by
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/lodge

Day 2: Masai Mara

Full day is spent exploring the park in search of the big five. The Mara offers wildlife in
such a great variety and abundance that is truly difficult to believe. Over 450 species of
animals have been recorded here, you will easily see rhinos, leopard, elephants, buffalo,
wildebeests, zebra, warthog, Jackals, lions, many types of antelopes, crocodiles and
giraffe. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are
filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra from Serengeti (Tanzania).The famous Maasai
tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve, Picnic lunch is served in the
park. In the evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge

Day 3: Masai Mara-Nairobi

Early Morning game drives in the park followed by late breakfast at the lodge and depart
to Nairobi. Lunch en route, and then proceed to Nairobi arriving late in the afternoon.

The package includes:

Transport in 8 seater luxury open roof tour vans.
2 night accommodation at preferred hotel.
All meals on full board i.e. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Comprehensive game drives for the 3 days.
Services of professional tour guide driver.
