1 Absolute Value The distance a number is from zero
2 Cubed number Number to the third power
3 Estimate To approximate a value without being exact (reasonableness)
4 Exponent The “little” number that tells how many times the base is a factor in a
multiplication problem.
5 Factor Numbers multiplied together to get a product
6 Integers The set of Whole Numbers and their opposites
7 Multiple The products of a specific number when it is multiplied by the Natural Numbers.
EX: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15...
8 Natural Number Any positive number starting at 1 and going to infinity
9 Percent Ratio given out of 100
10 Proportion An equation that shows that 2 ratios are equivalent
11 Ratio Comparison of 2 numbers using division (written in these forms 2 to 3, 2:3 or ⅔)
12 Round Adjusting a number or answer to a specific place value

13 Squared Number A number multiplied by itself


14 Whole Number Any positive number starting at 0 and going to infinity
15 Inequality Comparison of two mathematical values that are not equal (<, >, ≤, ≥)
16 Irrational Number Any number when written as a decimal that does NOT repeat or stop OR can
not be written as a fraction
17 Rational Numbers Any number when written as a decimal that stops or repeats OR can be written
as a fraction

18 Terminating Decimal A decimal number that stops


19 Repeating Decimal A decimal number whose digits repeat in a specific order

20 Acute Triangle Triangle where ​all​ three angles are less than 90º

21 Adjacent angles Angles that share a ray (side) and a common vertex. They do not overlap.

41 Perpendicular Lines Two lines that intersect and form four right angles. Two lines whose slopes are
opposite reciprocals. (i.e. 2 and -½)

54 Square A quadrilateral with four right angles and 4 congruent sides

55 Straight Angle Angle that is ​exactly​ 180º


56 Supplementary Any two angles whose sum totals 180º

60 Vertex A point of an angle, polygon, or solid where two or more lines meet
