PREFACE
Today’s world of business is full of competition and in order to remain in the
market many aspects of modern business must be given utmost
importance. And one of such most important aspect is the Human
Resource Management. Management is everywhere from schools, to
hospitals, from profit making organizations up to the government agencies.
But everywhere all the activities are carried down by people or we can say
human beings. So it is a resource of the organization and it should be
managed properly. And so Human Resource Management becomes an
important function.

Being a student of Bachelor of Management Studies it is important for me

to know the functioning of the HR department. I prepared my project report
on Human Resource in the Dahanu Thermal Power Station (DTPS), a
company owned by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.

I was cooperated and helped by the whole staff in accomplishing my task.

Full guidance related to my topic was provided to me. The project report
thus prepared would feed us with necessary guidance and good reference
for our future pursuits.

Almost full information whatever necessary for the completion of my project

is collected by me. And I expect your pardon if any mistakes occurs. It was
a great experience for me to prepare such project report.

I am very much thankful to Mr. N. C. Suryawanshi (Senior Manager HR) for
allowing me to make my project in Dahanu Thermal Power Station (DTPS).

The project report prepared by me owes to Mr. Manohar B. Thakare

(Deputy Manager HR), who guided me in all possible ways to prepare my
project. The instructions and information provided by him helped me a lot. I
am very much grateful to him for his wholehearted efforts. I am also
grateful to Mr. S.B. Phule for helping me in my project work.

I deeply gratify to the whole management and other staff of DTPS, as

without their help, I would not be able to complete my project successfully.

This report could not have been written without Mrs. Gauri Datir, BMS
Coordinator who not only served as my supervisor but also
encouraged and challenged me throughout my academic program.
