PV addition in NODEDB

Step 1: After creating a LUN in DS4800 assign (mapping) the same to the host NODEdb

Step 2: login into NODEdb as root user

Step 3: list the present status of physical volume

Step 5: hdisk 32 not having the pvid, change the characteristics of the device
#chdev –l hdisk32 –a pv=yes

Step 6: to know the size of the PV


#bootinfo -s hdisk32

Step 7: remove the device configuration


#rmdev -l hdisk32

Step 8: Add the PV to the existing VG


smitty extendvg

Press enter to continue the operation and wait for the OK status

Step 9: Ensure the PV has been added in that VG namely datavg


#lsvg –p datavg
