Release for 8/15/18

As of 9:30 AM, Penelec has 115 customers without power in Bradford County. The companies are
working to restore service and hope to have everyone they can reach back in service by the end of
today. There are some areas in Monroe Township that have not been assessed for damage because of
lack of access to the region.

A water advisory is still in effect for customers from New Albany township to Monroe township until
further notice.

We currently have a shelter open at Towanda Elementary School for people who needed to be
evacuated from their homes. The Red Cross reports that showers, warm meals and assistance with
paperwork are available.

The Pennsylvania Military and Veterans Affairs has monetary assistance for Veterans who incurred flood
damage. All honorably discharged veterans within Bradford County who suffered flood damage should
contact the PDMVA as soon as possible. The number is 570-265-1704 and ask for Peter J. Miller.

Teams are out in the field to assess the damage and will remain on duty until all areas have been
reached.

Individuals who suffered flood damage should make an inventory of all damaged or destroyed property
and include pictures if possible. This information can be given to your local Emergency Management
Coordinator or sent directly to the County EMC, Sarah Neely. This information will help the Emergency
Management Agency compile a total amount for damage in the county.

There are still some road closures and if anyone has any questions about access, check the County
Department of Public Safety Facebook page.

The PA One Call system is available to help landowners who are beginning cleanup procedures on
eroded land. They are reminding everyone that it is necessary to call 811 before using equipment to dig.

People who wish to volunteer time or material goods to those affected by the flooding should contact
the Emergency Management Agency at 570-265-5022.

PA. Governor Tom Wolf are arriving at 3:30 today to tour the heavily flooded area of New Albany.
