Conditionals

Conditionals:

There are 3 types of conditionals:

Type 1 (First)

Example: If i have money, I will go to the cinema.

Strcture: If + Present Simple , Subject + Will + Infinitive

Use: We use the first conditional to refer to likely events in present/future.

Type 2 (Second)

Example: If I had money, I would go to the cinema.

Strcture: If + Past Simple , Subject + Would + Infinitive

Use: We use the second conditional to refer to unlikely events in present/future.

Type 3 (Third)

Example: If I had had money, I would have gone to the cinema.

Strcture: If + Past Perfect , Subject + Would + Have + Past Participle

Use: We use the third conditional to refer to unlikely events in the past.

Zero conditionals

Example: If I have a shower, I get wet

Structure: If + Present simple, Subject + Present simple

Ue: We use the present simple to refer to facts.


Choose the correct ending for each of the sentences.
Complete the sentences using the correct conditional (1st/2nd/3rd).
