Conclusion and Recommendation

After performing this term paper, the researcher enable to compute the different mode of
heat transfer that can be applied in an establishment. The researcher can determine that heat
transfer is such an important theory in designing a building. By performing this research, it helps
the researcher to apply in actual what is learned from studying heat transfer. Heat transfer can be
applied in doors, windows, person, walls and different appliances. The total heat load of the 1000
m2 mushroom farm is 223,916.16W.

The researcher enable to compute the heat load of the establishment. There are different
factors that affect the heat load of an establishment, the wall thickness, thermal conductivity, the
number of occupants, the wattage and number of appliances, the type of material used and many
more. It is shown that as the temperature difference increased, the total heat load also increase.
The thermal resistivity is indirectly proportional to the heat load. It means that if you increase the
thermal resistivity the heat load decreases. It means that thermal resistivity is a characteristic that
block the heat flow through conduction. Heat load is also affected by the opening such as door
and windows. Every object in a room contributes to heat. Insulation also helps to resist the heat
flow in a building.

The researcher recommend that to reach the desired temperature for comfort, the designer
of the building should always perform heat load calculation. By this, the designer will able to
know what type of ventilation and cooling should be applied. The designer should also consider
the ambient temperature because it helps determine the thickness of material and what type of
material will be used. The designer will also know the thermal conductivity of every material he
will use so he can achieve the desired temperature. The designer should consider the number of
appliance and occupants depending on the size of the building. The researcher recommend to add
10% of the total heat load to ensure that the cooling for the building wouldn’t fail.
