    Frog and mammalian testes differ in their spermatogenesis structure and process. In frogs, spermatogenesis occurs within spermatocysts located in the seminiferous tubules. The spermatogonia form syncytial clones surrounded by Sertoli cells within each spermatocyst. Adjacent cells in a spermatocyst develop in a similar synchronized stage, whereas in mammals adjacent cells in the seminiferous tubules occur at different stages. Frogs exhibit cystic spermatogenesis compared to the amniotic spermatogenesis seen in mammals.
