Pumping Tee
Procedure
The pumping tee must be connected using the KF 40 Clamp and Sealing O-Ring. If the
O-Ring is dry apply a little vacuum Grease
3. Attach the Vacuum Tee to the Pumping Tee using the KF Clamp.
4. Connect other end of the tee to the vacuum hose and the other end of the hose to
top of Vacuum pump
6. The pump can now be started, when running correctly the pump will achieve a
vacuum of 0.005 microns. This can be checked on the Vacuum Gauge.
The Pumping tee is used to remove the brass plug of the pumping port. The stem
locates with the plug by screwing in a clockwise direction. (See Below). Once
located, the stem is pulled removing the plug, the stem must be pulled out until the
plug hits the back of the pumping tee. It is advisable to secure the stem in this
position to prevent the plug from being drawn back into the port by the vacuum.
8. The Tanks should be vacuum pumped for 5 – 7 days unit the vacuum reads 0.005
microns. Once the pumping is complete the vacuum plug should be replaced.
9. To close pumping port push in stem until the plug re-locates into the port. While
pushing on the stem turn anti-clock wise until the thread of the stem unscrews from
the thread in the brass plug (This can be verified by feeling the thread on stem
grating on the thread of the plug).
The pump can now be switched off and the pumping tee disconnected.
