Suspects Named in Grand Jury Indictments

BRISTOL, VA – August 20, 9:00 am

On August 6, 2018, the Bristol VA Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Division presented cases
to the Grand Jury for indictment.

In all, 50 suspects were indicted on a total of 86 charges mostly related to the possession,
manufacture, and sale of illegal narcotics. The drugs involved include methamphetamine, heroin,
oxycodone, Suboxone, and marijuana, along with newer designer drugs and imitation controlled
substances.

Ten had three or more separate charges, three of whom for which it was their second or subsequent
offense. Three were charged with felony eluding. One was charged with multiple counts of using
a communication device to solicit a juvenile for sex.

The Bristol VA Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Division, Criminal Investigations Division
and US Marshalls service started rounding up these individuals on August 10, 2018. By the end of
that date, 17 were arrested and another 16 currently incarcerated will be served the new indictments
while in jail.
