In this scenario, the auditor will examine the Emergency Response Procedure. The auditee is
the ESH/Safety Coordinator.
The auditee should have the following documents from the AEG Case Study to present to the
auditor if requested:
You are upset that Sally Johnson got the Environmental Management Representative position
over you, and now Sally has you doing all her work. You began in the company as a
receptionist, moved up to HR Associate, and now are the ESH/Safety Coordinator. Due to a lack
of training, you do not really feel comfortable handling regulatory and compliance issues, and
you are sure you have skipped some steps and passed over some regulations. You are very
focused on your job and always try to do the right thing, but you are worried that some of your
past shortfalls in personal performance effect your job security.
You need to mention that you have not had a safety drill in 3 months.
You mention a fire in the dumpster two weeks ago. The company had a huge deadline to meet,
and everyone was very busy, so there is no incident report, although normally this sort of event
would generate an incident report. The Facilities Manager informally researched the fire and
determined that oil in the dumpster caught fire in the extreme 105 degree Michigan heat.
