Statement of the problem

Nowadays peoples seem to be more concerned or nurturing their materialisticnature,

theychoose to have lots of money, wealth, power, and possessions, in order to become

happy, but however why it is there are many people who still profess to be unhappy,

uncontended despite all of the possessions that they have. that’s why this study aim to

present the insight of Erich Fromm on his concept of “To Be”

To furthermore the researcher formulated a main question on his topic,How does the

concept of “To Be’ become a norm in attaining authentic life?

The researcher also aims to answer the following question?

1) Who is Erich Fromm?

1.1. What school of though is he from?

1.2 .What is his philosophy about?

1.3. Who influenced his philosophical ideas?

1.4. What are his significant work?

2) What is his concept of “To be”?

2.1 How does Erich Fromm view the concept of “To Be?”

2.2. What is the Implication of concept of “To Be” to the Human Society?

3) What is the concept of “To Be “?

3.1what is the difference of “To Have” from “To Be”?
