MAINTENANCE PuMe Your pump must be properly maintained if it is to deliver its full value. A coscientious main- fenance programa will assure high pump per- formance and minimize pump shutdowns. RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Quaterly Drain the bearing housings, flush with a suitable solvent and refill with new oil 10 the proper level. Semi-Annually Inspect the packing sleeve for wear and repack the stuffing box. ‘Check the bearings for wear and replace if necessary. ‘Annually Completely dismantle the pump. Check all parts for wear, corrosion and replace all worn parts. Replace all gaskets and packing with new material. Check the alignment of the unit. Check the valves, gauges, etc. for condition and accuracy, MECHANICAL SEAL ‘The mechanical seal is 2 precision product, therefore, treat it with care. In handling, do not scratch the face of the carbon ring or Jet it drop, and take particular care not to scratch the lap face that comes in contact with the carbon ring. Refer to the seal assembly drawing for the proper setting of the mechanical seals. Do not put the seal back in service until ali the nonmetallic members have been replaced, and the sealing faces have been relapped or replaced. Before completing the seal installa tion, wipe the lapped sealing faces perfectly SPARE PARTS Refer to the last page of the manual for recom mended minimum spare parts classifications. When ordering spare parts, always make re- ference to the pump size and type, and serial number as shown on the pump’ nameplate. Order parts by the number and description shown on the sectional drawing furnished with the unit, and by stock mamber. TROUBLE SHOOTING The trouble shooting chart on page 9 hes been prepared to assist you in tracing out possible causes of the most common troubles expe rienced in the operation of centrifugal pumps. Inquiries involving problems not covered by this chart should be directed to the nearest sales office or representative.
