INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR NATURAL RUBBER IN ROADS CLOSING DATE CPD pee 7 APRIL 2017 ee ele WWW.RUBBERINROADS.COM INTRODUCTION The Seminar is jointly organised by the Centre of Excellence for Engineering & Technology, Public Works Department (CRETE) and Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) to provide a platform for presenting research findings, discussing and exchanging ideas on innovative and cutting edge technologies relating to the use of natural rubber in roads, JOINT ORGANISERS ~“ J » CREaTE : q ay : In 2012, the Malaysian Cabinet agreed to set up the National Technology maa, Excellence Centre. While the centre was being constructed in 2013 in Melaka, a \ Training and innovation Branch was established to manage the training for Public CRESTE Works Department's staff. It was operoted at PUD Tower in Kuala Lumpur. When am rebranded as the Centre of Excellence for Engineering & Technology, Public Works IE Department (CREaTE). The centre was established to further enhance the intellectual capital in the areas of competency, creativity and innovation by using the latest integrated and sustainable technologies. REAM In 1973, the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) wos formed with a permanent secretariat in Kuala Lumpur. The REAAA (Malaysian Chapter), the forerunner of Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) was established in April 1893. The change of name from REAAA (Malaysian RE Chapter) to REAM was effected in 1997 to be in tandem with national aspirations. The main objective of REAM is to promote the science and practice of road engineering and related professions, locally and regionally. REAM currently has more than 800 members in its register comprising professionals from both the public and corporate sectors, All REAM activities Gre supported by the road engineering fraternity in the true spirit of volunteerism, be they production of technical publications or organising events of mutual interest to the road industry.
