Procedure for Pressure Build

Up Analysis
Fiki Hidayat, M.Eng
Semi-log Plot of Pws vs. Horner time
• Horner time is define as unit time for build-up analysis.
𝑡𝑝 +∆𝑡
• Horner time, ,
∆𝑡
• which tp is producing time of well before shut-in. Unit in hours.
• t is shut-in time period. Unit in hours.
• After plotting Pws vs. horner time, estimate the slope at middle
transient period (Infinite Acting’s period).
162,6𝑄𝜇𝐵
• Use m to determine the formation permeability, 𝑘 =
𝑚ℎ
• Determine the P1hr. P1hr is the Pressure at t=1 hr. So, the P1hr is taken
𝑡𝑝 +1ℎ𝑟
from the slope at horner time of
1ℎ𝑟
Semi-log Plot of Pws vs. Horner time
• Determine skin factor from this following equation,
𝑃1ℎ𝑟 − 𝑝𝑤𝑓@∆𝑡=0 𝑘
𝑠 = 1,151 − 𝑙𝑜𝑔 2
+ 3,23
𝑚 ∅𝜇𝑐𝑡 𝑟𝑤
• Determine the P due to skin, ∆𝑃𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑛 = 0,869𝑚𝑠
• Determine the Flow Efficiency (FE)
𝑃∗ − 𝑃𝑤𝑓@∆𝑡=0 − ∆𝑃𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑛
𝐹𝐸 =
𝑃∗ − 𝑃𝑤𝑓@∆𝑡=0
