5th Grade Weekly News

This Week’s Objectives


Reading/Writing: This week we will
Reminders/Upcoming Events begin our unit on Human Rights.
What are human rights? Why do we have them
Tuesday 8/28: Back to School Night and how are they protected? This
ELAC/GATE Meeting 5pm-7pm unit is designed to help students build
knowledge about these questions while
Friday 8/31: No School simultaneously building their ability to read
challenging text closely.
Monday 9/3: Labor Day - No School
Math: Place value and decimal fractions.
Wednesday 9/5 PTSA Meeting *Please encourage your child to persevere
when they come upon a problem that is difficult
*Tues. 8/28 – at first. As always, we are continuing to work on
Mid Module Math Test writing about math and thoroughly explaining
our steps when solving.
