1. DATA
Experiment 401 is divided into two parts, wherein the first part is to sketch while the second part
is to compute. The bulk of the data gathered is in Part 2, where the researchers computed the magnetic
force, magnetic field, current and length of current loop. The researchers used Current loop of SF 42 for
part A and B. The researchers obtained an average magnetic force of 1.82 g (grams). The average current
and length of current loop is 0.83 and 0.4, respectively.

2. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Before proceeding with the experiment, the researchers were thoroughly briefed on how the
experiment will be performed. The first part of the experiment illustrated 4 different set ups, where the
researchers used two bar magnets and u-magnets. The researchers observed how the iron fillings would
react. When the poles are alike, the fillings would take shape of a hyperbola, whereas when they are
unlike the fillings would allure one another, creating an ellipse. For the U-magnets, the researchers
matched their unlike poles first, which created a single flow of direction on the same plane. When the
researchers placed the iron ring in the middle, the presentation is the same but there was no magnetic field
in the iron ring. The second part of the experiment, the researchers utilized the current-carrying
conductor. The researchers were able to observe how the magnetic force’s reaction in different situations.
There were three give in the experiment. First is how it reacts when the force is uniformly distributed,
next is the force the magnet can generate and lastly is how the loop affects the force that can be generated.

3. CONCLUSION
After performing the experiment, the researchers learned the nature of magnets in Part 1 of the
experiment and how the magnetic force can be related to magnetic field, current and its length. That was
obtained by using the current-carrying conductor. It can be concluded that the experiment is a success.
