MPX SOFTWARE ASSIGNMENT:

STEP -1:

Initially when the flow time is 20 days, we checked the utilization of the equipment, which was more
than 100% in 2 machines. Hence, we changed the input by adding in more no. of equipment for those 2
with the more than 100% utilization. Moreover, the batch size of the products is increased to the given
below snapshot from the initial higher quantities to reduce the utilization %. The end result was the flow
time reduced to 11 days as displayed below.
STEP 2:

The product wait time is checked later to be found very non-uniform as seen in the above snap shot.
This is reduced by reducing the batch size of the products to the below quantities and running the
software to find the flow time has further decreased to 10. And the product waiting time has also
reduced and is more uniform than before.
STEP 3:

It is noticed that the labour utilization has shot up to more than 100% and requires more no. of labour.
Hence the below screenshot shows the result of changing the labor requirements and the flow time has
reduced to 7 days, the equipment utilization is still under control.
STEP-4:

Having the entire process under control, we only look forward to reduce the flow time now, so next we
reduced the batch size of each of the components to the below snapshot level and ultimately arrived at
5 day flowtime process.
