Designed and implemented a research project to investigate the role of nitric oxide and
white blood cells in the control of capillary blood flow; with special focus on the effect of
high cholesterol levels and diabetes on the microcirculation of the rat mesentery.
Used several techniques to measure various properties of blood and plasma samples like
cholesterol and glucose levels, nitrite and nitrate levels, white blood cell count, glycated
hemoglobin content etc.
Developed a new analysis parameter by modeling the diffusion between arterioles and
venules using finite element analysis.
Currently working on a technique to measure nitric oxide levels in-vivo using fluorescence
microscopy, and study the effect of leukocyte adherence on nitric oxide levels in normal as
well as diabetic rats.
Helped implement projects for bulk drug and pharmaceutical plants; responsible for
preparing specifications for equipment, interacting with vendors as well as representatives
from the companies; supervising the draftsmen; and visiting project sites.
