Evidence-Based Practice is a lifelong approach to clinical practice that integrates a

systematic search, clinical expertise and patient preferences and values. Quality
Improvement is the combine and unceasing effort of everyone, healthcare
professional, patients and their families, researchers, payers, planners, educators to
make changes that will lead to better patient outcomes, better system performance,
and better professional development. In the practice, the main point of Evidence-Base
Practice is to translate knowledge with a goal of improving practice, meanwhile
Quality Improvement aims to improve patient care processes and outcomes in specific
health care settings. The purpose of QI is to use a systematic, data-guided approach to
improve processes or outcomes. Principles and strategies involved in QI have evolved
from organizational philosophies of total quality management and continuous quality
improvement.
