Concrete and Concrete Structures: Numerical Modelling and Applications
Concrete and Concrete Structures: Numerical Modelling and Applications
Information System
[en] The aim of this book is to present a unified approach for the
available mathematical models of concrete. These are then linked to finite
element analysis and to a computer program in which special provision is
made for concrete plasticity, cracking and crushing with and without
concrete aggregate interlocking. Creep, temperature and shrinkage
formulations are included and also geared to various concrete
constitutive models. Their influence is taken into consideration in the
operational and overloading behaviour of concrete structures. The book
is divided into three parts - Part I: reviews existing data on concrete
theories, effects of temperature, creep and fatigue. Part II: covers
numerical modelling of concrete, supported by extensive tables,
computer outlines and appendices. Part III: is devoted to solving
problems on a wide range of concrete structures subject to static and
dynamic loads. Case studies have been selected from various areas of
civil engineering. They include structures for building works, hydro-
electric and nuclear power stations, offshore, defence, shelters and
storage facilities. Care is taken to include those existing structures which
are initially supported by experimental test results and/or site monitoring.
In this way the work reported in the text can assume a degree of
validation. (author)
