I have a personal experience traveling in Daewoo, many times from Sargodha to Lahore and
Faisalabad. I feel a great difference regarding service with respect to other competitors of
Daewoo like New Kahn, Ban dial, Shalimar, Nazi express.
Before going to describe about the customer retention policies I will briefly discuss the
introduction of Daewoo.
Daewoo, a top Korean company, emerged in Pakistan in 1993, company import buses
from Korea and intends t o i n v e s t $ 6 0 i n i t s t r a n s p o r t v e n t u r e w h i c h w o u l d
have 600buses in total. Company source says that it is also considering
installing a bus assembling plant to take part in the massive demand of passenger.
The company started its business on December 10, 1997 after obtaining certificate for
commencement of business from registrar of companies, Lahore. Daewoo Pakistan Motorway
Services Ltd. was incorporated as a public ltd. company on October 23, 1997. The object of the
company was to provide services on Lahore- Islamabad motorway. Daewoo Pakistan Express
Bus Services Ltd. was incorporated as publicity.

In May 1999, Daewoo signed memorandum of understanding with the Government of Punjab
at Seoul, Korea to operate 1500 buses in Pakistan out of which 700 buses were proposed to be
operated in Punjab whereas 800 buses in Sindh..

Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service has two categories of buses in their fleet,

Super
Normal buses has the less facilities where in Super category, there are luxury seating
arrangement and some other luxury facilities within the bus.
Now, this company has nearly about 100 buses providing services different routes and
has a vast network within Pakistan.1
