LEANING TOWER OF PISA

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a


freestanding bell tower known worldwide
for its unintended tilt. It took 199 years to
build the Leaning Tower of Pisa, beginning
in August 1173. The construction was
stopped twice, the first time for 100 years,
the second time in 1284. Both times it was
due to wars. The tower is 8 stories high,
55.86 m (183.27 ft) on the low side and
56.67 m (185.93 ft) on the high side.
Germans used the tower as a lookout
during World War II. The Allies knew this
but decided against bombing the area due
to the impressive beauty of the tower and
cathedral. Seven bells sit in the bell-
chamber at the top of the tower, one bell
for each note of the musical major scale.
Hagia Sophia

The Hagia Sophia is one of Istanbul’s


most popular tourist attractions. The Hagia
Sophia is 1,478 years old. Construction
began in 532 CE and was completed in 537
CE. The Hagia Sophia was first a basilica, or
church, and then a mosque. the Hagia
Sophia was a mosque until 1935, when the
first Turkish president and founder of the
Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk,
transformed it into a museum that has both
Islamic and Christian influences and
features, making it one of the few spiritual
sites to incorporate imagery from both of
these religions.
Today, the Hagia Sophia is a restored
museum that boasts awe-inspiring mosaics
and artifacts, and hosts a variety of tours for
visitors to enjoy.
GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZA

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of


the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,
and the only one to remain largely
intact. the pyramid was built as a tomb
over a 10 to 20-year period concluding
around 2560 BC (Before Century). The
Great Pyramid consists of an estimated
2.3 million blocks which most believe to
have been transported from
nearby quarries. This pyramid is the only
one in Egypt known to have passages inside
that go up and go down. If you wanted to
visit the king’s chamber you would have to
walk down, all the way, bent over. It took
approximately 20 years to build and has
three burial chambers inside.
SKY CAB, LANGKAWI

SkyCab is located at the oldest part of


South East Asia and the first to emerge from
the ancient sea and estuary! The total
length is 2.2 km (1.4 mi), with a journey
time from the base to the top of around 15
minutes. It was officially opened in 2003.
The Langkawi cable car was completed in
August 2002 at a cost of RM 46 million. The
ride affords a view of the surrounding
forest, the Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells)
waterfall, as well as the sea.
The Visitors will be amazed at the
unfolding dramatic views from the
platforms, the most unique and exciting
features of Machincang, are dominating
rock tower peaks providing spectacular 360
degrees panoramic views of the Langkawi
islands and Southern Thailand as well as
dramatic views of the deep chasms,
overhangs cliff walls and isolated pinnacles.
Such nature monuments are seldom seen
anywhere else in this combination except in
Langkawi.
TAJ MAHAL

Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful


buildings in the world. The city of Agra is
famous across the world for the presence
of Taj Mahal. This was built by a Mughal
Emperor called Shah Jahan in the memory
of his beloved wife. This is considered the
finest example of the Mughal Architecture
with a combination of elements of person,
Indian and Islamic. Taj Mahal has become
popular not only for its architecture but for
the inspiration by romance. Taj Mahal is
opened every day except Friday from
sunrise to sunset. Meanwhile, at night, it is
opened from 8.30 pm to 12.30 am on full
moon night, two days before and two days
after.
VICTORIA FALLS

Victoria Falls is a waterfall in southern


Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of
Zambia and Zimbabwe. It has been
described by CNN as one of the Seven
Natural Wonders of the world. The spray
from the falls make the River Zambezi Rain
Forest the only place that receives rainfall
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. the Victoria
Waterfalls are the largest in the world. They
measure 5577 feet wide and varies in
height from 262- 304 feet. It is estimated
that roughly 600 million cubic liters of
water hit the ground every minute on the
Victoria Waterfalls.
TURNING TORSO

Turning Torso is the tallest residential


building in all of Sweden. It is designed by
Santiago Calatrava. From the bottom to the
top, the building twists a full 90 degrees.
the tower is made from concrete, steel,
glass, and recyclable aluminum. Turning
Torso opened its doors in 2005, and upon
completion it was the second tallest
residential building in Europe and the
highest in Sweden.
