Proposed Amendment to Article 18 – Policy Conferences - Constitution (PC Party of Ontario)

Whereas Article 18 states that a Policy Conference shall be held “once a year”;

And Whereas the PC Party of Ontario traditionally holds an in-person convention of delegates
every two years.

And Whereas in 2017 the party’s policy process was transitioned to an online system in lieu of
an in-person policy conference being held at a convention of delegates representing the
membership.

Be it resolved that paragraph 18.1 be amended so that “once a year” be replaced with “every
two years.”

Be it further resolved that paragraph 18.8 be added that reads, “Any part of the policy
development process that involves an online web-based system shall be in addition to, and not
in replacement of, the requirement to hold an in-person Policy Conference as outlined in
paragraph 18.1.”
