This document summarizes a Bachelor's thesis on nonmalignant leukocyte disorders. It is divided into three chapters that discuss leukocyte morphology and physiology, quantitative and qualitative leukocyte disorders including autoimmune diseases and allergies, and presents statistics on allergy sufferers from a town in Eastern Slovakia. The practical part analyzes information on allergies in patients, finding that children ages 1-10 are more allergic than adults, allergies are more common in women, and children have more food allergies while adults are more affected by mites.

The theme of this Bachelor work is nonmalignant leukocyte disorders.
This work is divided into
three chapters and subchapters. The first chapter presents a characterization of leukocytes, their morphology, as well as their physiology. The second chapter describes both quantitative and qualitative disorders of the leukocyte system. Given the fact that leukocytes, particularly their antibodies, are related to the whole activities of the immune system, this chapter addresses autoimmune disorders, laboratory diagnosis of allergies and possible causes of acquired autoimmune disorders, as well as the treatment and prevention of these diseases. As the number of allergy sufferers worldwide is growing each year, this work includes statistics of allergy sufferers in one of the towns of Eastern Slovakia. The aim of the practical part, the third chapter, consists in processing information of allergies in a selected group of patients. Children between 1-10 years are more allergic than adults. As for gender, allergies are more common among women. There are also particular allergies based on the analysis of specific IgE antibodies in children and adults. While children have mostly problems with food allergens, adults are more concerned with mites, according to our survey sample.
