The Bangsamoro Organic Law (Republic Act No.

11054), also known as Bangsamoro Basic Law

and often referred to by the acronym "BOL" and "BBL" (Filipino: Batayang Batas para sa Rehiyong
Awtonomo ng Bangsamoro) is a Philippine law providing for the establishment of an autonomous
political entity known as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, replacing the Autonomous Region in
Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). The measure was first proposed and deliberated upon by the 16th Congress
of the Philippines but failed to pass into law. The issue was taken up once again in the 17th Congress. The
legislation was ratified by both the Senate and the House of Representatives on July 23 and 24, 2018
respectively. The bill was finally signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte on July 26, 2018. As an
organic act, the Basic Law aims to abolish the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and provide for
the basic structure of government for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, following the agreements set
forth in the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro peace agreement signed between the
Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in 2014.

The proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) which shall be approved by the Congress of the
Philippines will pave the way for the creation of the Bangsamoro Government that shall be for the
Bangsamoro, by the Bangsamoro and of the Bangsamoro. The expected good effect of BBL will
institutionalize peace in the war-ravaged places of the Bangsamoro homeland.

. I did my analysis on the Bangasamoro Basic Law. I understand that it is one which holds the key
for temporary peace in the subject area which it covers. Philippines' socio-economic and political status
cannot afford internal fighting and warfare. From that sense, this law holds good for the time being. As
Ava Gonzales pointed out in her answer, expansion of territory can also be curbed as of now. Real
solution lies in having meaningful dialogues and move towards agreeable peace instead of fighting in the
name of religion. There are so many. It would give freedom and representation to so many minority
groups. Of course, they would need to cooperate and stop the acts of terrorism for any actual success.

The Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), a law that will allow the muslim rebels in Mindanao to have
their own state and will be funded by the Phillippine government from our taxes. The president said that it
will bring peace to Mindanao but history tells us that this will not likely happen. The MNLF once had a
peace agreement with the government. Unfortunately, they had a disagreement within their group and a
few of them decided to breakaway thus giving birth to the MILF. Now that the MILF is an agreement
with the government, another group from the MILF emerged (BIFF) and the MNLF started to wreck
havoc once again. The BBL will not stop the conflict in Mindanao. It serves no purpose. It will only give
power to those who want to ruin the Republic of the Philippines.
