My name is Robers Armand and I believe in changing the world.

Since I was a teenager I have

been involved in creating social change. I have participated in and taught social justice
workshops as a part of the Peace and Justice Corps in Cambridge and the Prison
Empowerment Project teaching worships to youth about the Prison Industrial Complex as part
of the City School nonprofit.

.After participating in the Year Up program in 2009, I have about 8 years prior experience in the
Financial and Accounting fields primarily at State Street Bank, and also have experience as a
Real Estate Salesperson.

I returned to work in the social change with a local community group the Goree House,
creating workshops for youth on how to conduct themselves in encounters with police,
organizing Tech Hustlers, an Intro to Coding Course for underserved youth, and mentoring at
risk youth to become future leaders at my former elementary school.

More than just speaking out about the problems I see or learning about the systems that
influence that maintain the status quo, I wanted to BUILD the solutions to make the world of
tomorrow a better place. I discovered the incredible power of the innovation economy and the
entrepreneurial startup culture to change the world, which brought me to SI. At Startup Institute,
I have learned how to build apps in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and CSS. I love learning and am
eager to find an mid sized organization with a vision and a great open culture conducive to
developing its team members and solving real problems.

I believe that every person has the possibility to reach their full potential and help the world
evolve into a better tomorrow. Granted, as melodramatic has that may sound, it truly is how I've
tried to live my life. If you want someone with passion, purpose, creativity, boundless curiosity
for discovery and out of the box thinking, come talk to me.
