THE FUNDAMENTALS
Maximo Main Menu

 Click the Bulletins link to view any bulletins.


 Click the Go To link for navigating to different modules and applications in Maximo (You will only see the
modules and applications that you have access to).
 Click the Reports link to access an applications reports list.
 Clicking the Start Center link will return the user to their Start Center from anywhere in Maximo.
 Click Profile to specify default, personal or password information.
 Click Sign Out to properly log out of Maximo.
 Click Help to view the help information.

Maximo Application Menu

1. Query Dropdown - This Dropdown Will Contain Saved Queries.


2. Quick Find Field - Enter A Value For The Key Field Of The Application.
3. Execute Quick Find - Executes The Search For The Quick Find Field Entry
4. Quick Search Menu - Advanced Search And Save Query Menus.
5. Select Action Dropdown - Application Specific Actions.
6. New - Creates A New Record In The Specified Application.
7. Save - Saves New Records Or Any Modifications To An Existing Record.
8. Clear - Clears The Current Query and Returns View to the Application’s List Tab.
9. Previous/Next Arrows - Moves to the Previous or Next Record.
10. Change Status - Shortcut for Changing the Status of the Current Record.
11. Create KPI - Used To Create A KPI From The Application’s Current Query
12. Create Report - Launches The Query Based Report (QBR) Wizard.
13. Browser View - Opens The Assigned Report In The BIRT Report Viewer.
14. Direct Print - Sends The Assigned Report Directly To The Default Printer.

Maximo Application Basics

Detail Menu button to display a menu of options specific to the field.

Select Value button to display a list of values appropriate for the field.

Long Description button to add more detail to the description field.

Select Date and Time buttons to open a date/time lookup.

Attachment button to attach a document to a record.

* A Red Asterisk means that it is a required field.

New Row button to add a row to various applications.

Additional Detail button to view additional row information.

SERVICE REQUESTS
Create a Service Request
STEP 1: From the Maximo Start Center click on the Go To menu at the top of the screen and navigate to the
Service Request module. GOTO > SELF SERVICE > CREATE FS SR.

STEP 2: Fill in the appropriate fields as directed by your Maximo Administrator.


 Note: Some fields are required.

STEP 3: To add an attachment to your service request click the Add File button in the Add Attachment section.

STEP 4: From the Maximo Create a File Attachment window click the Browse button to navigate to the file you
want to attach to the service requests. Once you have attached your file or Files click the OK button.

STEP 5: Once you have entered the appropriate information for the record click the Submit button.

STEP 6: Maximo will return you to the start center and notify you that your service request has been
submitted. Click ok button to close the system message window.

Search / View Service Requests

STEP 1: From the Maximo Start Center click on the Go To menu at the top of the screen and navigate to the
View FS Service Requests module. GOTO > SELF SERVICE > View FS Service Requests

STEP 2: Using the textboxes in the Search for Service Request section of the screen you may search by entering
any combination of text in the search fields and pressing the Enter button.

STEP 3: Maximo will return a list of service request that match your search criteria. You may select the service
request you want to work with by clicking on the underlined WO# in the View Service Request section
of the screen.

STEP 4: To add a log entries to your service request click the Add Log Entry button under the Log section of the
service request.

STEP 5: From the Update Service Request Log window enter the appropriate details and click the OK button.

WORK ORDERS
Searching / Viewing Work Orders

STEP 1: From the Maximo Start Center click on the Go To menu at the top of the screen and navigate to the
Work Orders module. GOTO > Work Orders > LSU Work Orders.

STEP 2: From the list tab you may search for a work order by entering any combination of text in the search
fields and pressing the Enter button.

STEP 3: Maximo will return a list of work orders that matched your search criteria. You may select the work
order you want to work with by clicking on the underlined WO#.

STEP 4: To return to your result set click on the List tab at the top of the screen.

Change Work Order Status

STEP 1: From the Maximo Start Center click on the Go To menu at the top of the screen and navigate to the
Work Orders module. GOTO > Work Orders > LSU Work Orders.

STEP 2: Search for the Work Order you want to work with by one of the two options below.
 Enter any combination of text in the search fields and press the Enter button. Select the work order
you want to work with by clicking on the underlined WO#
 Enter the WO# in the Quick Find Field and press the Enter button.

STEP 3: From the Work Order tab Change the status of the Work Order by clicking the Change Status button at
the top of the toolbar.

STEP 4: From the Maximo Change Status window click the down arrow next to the New Status field and select
the appropriate status and click the OK button.

STEP 5: Verify the status change by reviewing the Status textbox.
