JOB ANALYSIS OF ACADEMIC ASSOCIATES IN AN IIM

The planning process is-:

 Analysis-: Knowledge, Skills, Demographics, Social Influences, Economic factor,


Technology
 Goals-: Establish needs, determine objective
 Decisions-: Find alternatives to satisfy end needs
 Implementation-: Investigate performance, retrain and recruit assignments

GOALS
In this, objectives are determined to hire or recruit academic associate in an IIM. Objectives
are determined by defining the roles and responsibilities of the academic associate. The
responsibilities of academic associate are as follows:
1. The associate professor is needed to assist faculty in various aspects such as-
a) Contact faculty for his arrival time
b) Logistics required by faculty
c) Recording the responses of students in class for CP
d) Assessment of quizzes and exam papers of students
e) Carry out additional research about progress about a topic in real world
2. Critically think about material – plan evaluate and suggest any changes in curriculum,
course material, etc and distribute among students
3. In absence of faculty, associate act as a medium of contact between student and
professor and convey the issue faced by students
4. Associate needs to prepare notes, assignment and schedule of the class and update
it to faculty
5. Associate needs to prepare a schedule of classes for a term
6. Associate should be able to guide about the future prospects of the subject and
relate them with real world scenario to students
7. Clearing the doubts of students and providing with sufficient material regarding
doubt
8. Able to maintain the decorum of class and be responsive to need of faculty in class
IIM establishes the responsibilities of academic associate as objectives to determine
alternatives for further recruitment of academic associates.
