ABSTRACT

Wahyuni, Eluk. 2018. The Influence of Knisley Mathematics Learning Model on Students'
Mathematical Representation Ability in Statistical Material of Grade VIII of Pronojiwo Junior
High School. Thesis, Undergraduate Program in Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty
of Science and Sports Science Education, Institute of Teacher Training and Education Budi
Utomo Malang. Advisor: Era Dewi Kartika, M. Pd.
Keywords: Knisley Mathematics Learning Model, Mathematical Representation
Management of mathematics learning that has not run as expected, makes students have low
mathematical representation abilities. This forces teachers to be more creative and innovative in
the selection of learning models to be used. The selection of this learning model must be adapted
to the indicators of achievement of students' mathematical representations. This study itself aims
to determine the effect of using a knisley mathematics learning model on class VIII students on
statistical subjects, especially the size of a single data center.
The method used in this study is a quantitative experimental method. The research class was
taken by using a "random sampling" method, where class VIII A was obtained as the
experimental class and VIII B was the control class. Both of these classes have the same initial
state after testing the students' daily math test scores using one-way ANOVA test. The result of
the research that has been done is the average posttest score of students who were given
treatment using the Knisley learning model is better, that is 88 compared to the average posttest
value of students with conventional learning, namely 51.
From the explanation of the results of the research above, it can be seen that there are differences
in mathematical representation abilities for students who get learning with conventional and
conventional math learning models. Where is the mathematical representation ability of students
who get learning with knisley mathematics learning models better than students who get learning
with conventional models.
