Reference Guide to Proctored Exams for Product

Design & Manufacturing Specialization Certification


Introduction

Autodesk is strengthening the Product Design & Manufacturing (PD&M) Specialization


Requirements in FY18 to support the need for a fully focused and highly trained Partner
ecosystem capable of attracting new customers to Autodesk solutions. The goal of
introducing Proctored Exams is to validate the integrity of all who take the Sales and
Technical Sales exams and demonstrate their competence under controlled conditions.

Autodesk is introducing proctored exams for PD&M specialized partners for the roles of
sales and technical representatives.

Differentiate yourself and your business by attaining Autodesk’s PD&M certification or re-
certification in FY18. Specialize to stand out in the market. Show your customers that you
know how to help them succeed!

As of August 2017, the proctored exams will be offered at Pearson VUE testing centers.
Pearson VUE is a leading global provider of testing services, and they have a
comprehensive network of testing centers across EEA and Switzerland.

The exams are computer-based assessments of knowledge, competencies, and skills.


Physical attendance at a local testing center is required.

Exams are available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish languages.

Certification and Specialization Requirements


The Proctored Exam is a requirement for reseller staff wishing to obtain the PD&M
Certification in EEA & Switzerland. This is in addition to the standard certification
requirements:

 40 Essential CECs – by 31 July 2017*


 40 Continuing Education Credits – on a rolling 6-months basis
 Pass proctored exams to demonstrate Sales or Technical Sales competence under
controlled conditions – by 31 October 2017*
A minimum of two sales and two technical representatives are required to pass the exam
and become certified for the reseller to be compliant with the PD&M Specialization. VARs
are also required to meet the minimum Purchase Requirement (MPR) as defined in the
Partner Advantage Guide.

*These deadlines are for existing PD&M specialized partners only. Partners wanting to
acquire the PD&M specialization must fulfill the requirements, but don’t need to adhere to
the above deadlines, Autodesk will continue to offer proctored exams after 31 October
2017.

Preparing for the Sales Exam


The Sales exam is based on 12 online courses available on Autodesk Learning Central
(ALC). We strongly recommend that sales representatives take all these courses to
prepare for the exam, even if they have taken some or all of them in the past:

Preparing for the technical exam
The technical exam consists of both product usage and industry knowledge questions,
and candidates need to have solid hands-on experience with the Autodesk PD&M
products. The industry knowledge part is based on 8 online courses available on Autodesk
Learning Central (ALC). We strongly recommend that technical representatives take all
these online courses to prepare for the exam, even if they have taken some of them in the

PD&M Proctored Exam Formats


The goal of introducing proctored exams is to validate the integrity of those that take the
Sales and Technical exams, and allow them demonstrate their competence under
controlled conditions.

The exams both consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and are offered in English,
French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Candidates have 2 hours to complete the exam.

Candidates get a pass or fail result displayed on screen immediately after submitting all
the answers. The result is also stored in your personal account on the Pearson VUE
system.

The security is high at the testing centers, and taking an exam in a proctored environment
means that candidates need to identify themselves by showing valid photo ID before
starting the session. In addition, mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other reference
materials are not allowed, and the session is monitored by a proctor.

Scheduling an Exam
1. Go to www.pearsonvue.com
2. From the For test takers menu select Schedule an Exam
3. Select testing program Autodesk Reseller Exam
4. From the Autodesk Reseller Exam landing page, Create your Account*
5. Use Find a test center to see the test centers near to your preferred location
6. From the View Exams select the Sales or Technical Sales exam
7. Use Schedule this Exam to book the date and time, and pay for your exam.
Appointments should be made in advance of the day you wish to test, and are
subject to availability.
8. The cost for taking the exam is €185/try. Payment is via credit card or pre-paid
voucher.

*When you create a Pearson VUE account to register to take your exam, it is very
important that the information you register with matches the information in your profile
on ALC.

Your first name, last name, ALC Learner ID**, and your email address must
match exactly in these two profiles. In addition, you need to enter you company name.

**See Appendix 1 how to find your ALC Learner ID.

If you have questions about the exam, your ALC account or your compliancy, please open
a support case in Partner Center.
Appendix

How to find your ALC Learner ID


To be able to schedule your exam session at one of the Pearson VUE test centers, you
need to know your ALC Learner ID. You will find your Learner ID on the landing page in
ALC, as shown in the picture below.

In addition, your fist name, last name and Company name you fill in on the Pearson VUE
Create Account page, must match the one in your ALC profile exactly.

Please note that if you don’t follow these guidelines, we will not be able to match your
profiles, and your company’s specialization compliancy could be endangered.
Candidate Agreement Policy
When creating your Pearson VUE account you will be required to agree to the following
policy. Note that in the terms of this policy Autodesk is referred to as the “test program
owner” and is the data controller:

“By accessing this website and checking the box you understand, acknowledge,
agree, and accept the Pearson VUE Business Group’s (“Pearson VUE”), a business
of NCS Pearson, Inc., Privacy and Cookies Policy including the collection of your
data and the monitoring of your entire testing session through the use CCTV and
the Terms and Conditions regarding our use of cookies and the processing
operations of your personal data to support your testing experience. By providing
your personal information you consent to the collection, use, transfer, and
processing of your personal data to Pearson VUE located in the U.S., its authorized
third parties which may be located in the U.S. or outside of the country where you
are located, and the test program owner, as the data controller, that may be
located outside of the country where you are located. In addition, some test
program owners have their own, possibly different, privacy policies.”

When you arrive at the testing center on the day scheduled for your exam, you will be
required to click to agree to a Terms and Conditions policy before taking the exam. This is
to agree by the rules of the test center and not disclose the exam content outside the test
center.

Exam Payment Options


The fee for taking a PD&M Proctored Exam is €185 Euros for each attempt in all EEA and
CH countries. Payment is made via the Pearson VUE scheduling web site pages. Payment
can be made either by Credit Card or pre-paid Voucher.

Exam Vouchers simplify administrative tasks. Vouchers allow partners to pay Pearson
VUE centrally via their finance department for multiple vouchers in a single translation.
Vouchers are distributed electronically by Pearson VUE once payment has been received.
A voucher is a unique number, which represents a prepaid credit or authorization for
payment. For the credit to be claimed, the voucher number must be given when
scheduling an exam.
Note: the exam fee cannot be reclaimed through the Autodesk Channel Development
Program (CDP) or Market Development Fund (MDF) program.

Exam Policies
Admission Policy:

Pearson VUE ask that you arrive at the test center 15 minutes before your
scheduled appointment time. This will give you adequate time to complete the
necessary sign-in procedures. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your
appointment, you may be refused admission and the exam fees may be forfeited.

You will be required to present one form of original (no photo copies), valid
(unexpired) government issued ID that includes your name, photograph, and
signature. The first and last name that you used to register must match the first
and last name on the ID that is presented on test day.

Carefully review the full ID policy requirements, including any additional


allowances to this policy, prior to your exam appointment. Please visit

No personal items may be taken into the testing room. This includes all bags,
books not authorized by the sponsor, notes, phones, pagers, watches and wallets.

Re-take Policy:

If you should fail the exam, you can schedule again and re-take it after the first try
This can be done on the same day depending on availability at your testing center,
or at a later day. We recommend that you do some more studying between the
attempts and go back another day. When you re-take and exam you will get a
different set of 50 questions to answer. The fee of €185 Euros will be charged each
time you re-take the exam

Cancellation Policy:

If you wish to cancel your exam, you must contact Pearson VUE at least 24 hours
prior to your scheduled appointment. Cancelling an exam less than 24 hours prior
to your appointment or missing your exam may result in forfeiting your exam fees.
Rescheduling Policy:

If you wish to reschedule your exam, you must contact Pearson VUE at least 24
hours prior to your schedule appointment. Rescheduling less than 24 hours prior
to your appointment may result in forfeiting your exam fee.
