Factual:
● What are the four most common swimming strokes?
● What should we be looking for in each of the 3 stages of the stroke (catch, pull, recover)
● What are some of the safety considerations we need to observe in the pool?
Conceptual:
● What do we mean by iterative improvements, and how would they help in the
development of a skill?
● What do we mean by refinement?
Debatable:
● It is easier to improve your performance, listening a your coach, or watching a video of
yourself? Explain in detail.

knowledge.

set in familiar and unfamiliar situations.
III. Apply physical and health terminology to communicate understanding.

● You are going to select two swimming strokes that you would like to improve.
● You will research from a couple of di erent websites important tips to help improve your
technique.
● These tips you will turn into your own 8 point checklist in your own words.
● You will then analyse your own stoke and pick out 2 areas from each stroke you want to
work on.
● You will print out these checklists and use them in class to help achieve your goals.
● At the end of the unit you will reflect on your achievements, creating a before and after
video.
