    1 Two resonant tubes each closed at one end and of lengths 40.0 cm and 41.0 cm respectively.
    The air column of each tube vibrates at its fundamental mode. If the speed of sound is 330 m
    s"1 and the end corrections can be neglected, determine the beat frequency when both tubes are
    sounded.

    2 Beat frequency of 3 Hz is heard when a tuning fork is sounded simultaneously with a stretched
    string of frequency 440 Hz. When the stretched string is tightened a little, the beat frequency
    becomes 5 Hz. Determine the frequency of the tuning fork.
