Tech Mahindra is a part of the USD 21 Billion Mahindra group which employs
around 2,00,000 people in over 100 countries. It is a US$4.9 billion company
and functions across 90 countries with over 113550 employees. The
company headquarters is located in Pune and the registered office is in
Mumbai. The current chairman of the company is Anand Mahindra, who is an
alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

FORMATION OF THE COMPANY: The company was started as a joint

venture between Mahindra & Mahindra and British Telecom in 1986 in the
form of a technology outsourcing firm. Initially, the British Telecom had about
30 percent stake in Tech Mahindra. However, in 2010, the British Telecom
sold 5.5 percent of its to Mahindra & Mahindra for Rs. 451 crores. In 2012,
British Telecom sold all of its share to institutional investors and hence this
marked the exit of the company from Tech Mahindra.
