VIDEO LESSON
This video lesson is intended for elementary students at Universidad De Las Fuerzas Armadas-
ESPE.
Start the lesson with the whole class to preview the academic vocabulary words.
Shopping- buy- like- try on- find – take – have a good time- cashier- changing room- cash.
Have students individually draw (on a piece of paper) what they like to do when they go
shopping.
Have students in small groups show their drawings and share ideas about shopping.
Ask the members of each group to collaborate in writing sentences that summarizes the group
opinions. Then share their sentences with the class.
After students finish this, have them do EXERCISE A IN THE WORKSHEET.
Compare the answers as a group.
Continue with the lesson and explain to students that they are going to watch a video clip
about WHO LIKES SHOPPING.
While students are watching they are going to take notes about the clip.
Give all students the worksheet with the questions to be answered (ANEXO) EXERCISE B.
Watch the video again and have students complete the sentences individually.
After students have finished doing the exercise, have them answer the question for the whole
class.

Have students individually describe their favorite actor (on a piece of paper).
Have students in small groups discuss their ideas.
Ask students to summarize the most interesting things about their friends’ favorite stars.

STUDENTS DO EXERCISE A IN THE WORKHEET.
Continue with the lesson and explain to students that they are going to listen to a song. Make
them predict the content of the song.
After enough practice, tell students the name of the song. It is LUCKY.
Play the song and while students are listening they are going to take notes about expressions
or phrases they can understand.
Students in pairs share their findings.
Give all students the worksheet with the song and have them to check if they have found any
correct word. EXERCISE B IN THE WORKSHEET (ANEXO).
Play the song again and make them fill in the blanks the exercise provided in the worksheet.
Play the song one more time and have students express their feelings about the song.
In pairs. They have to say if the main character of the song is happy or sad and say why they
think so.

In pairs, have students discuss the question.
In groups, they discuss the questions and share their ideas.
Finally, (SPEAKING) one person is in charge of summarizing the group’s opinions about
HAPINESS.
