General Information
SMCS Code: 7553 Torque-Turn
The torque-turn method is used when precise control
over clamping force is required. There is an initial
torque and an additional turn. The initial torque is

tube into the counterbore of the fitting body as far as (89 ± 18 lb in)
possible. There are two methods that may be used 17 ± 3 N·m
to tighten the nut. Tighten the nut with one of two 1/8 2
(150 ± 27 lb in)
methods.

Put nut (1) over the tube and push the tube into the i05213429
counterbore of the fitting body as far as possible.
Turn the nut with a wrench until a small decrease in Hose Clamps
torque is felt. The small decrease in torque indicates
that the sleeve (1A) has been broken off the nut. Hold SMCS Code: 7553
the tube in order to prevent the tube from turning.
Tighten the nut for an additional 1 1/2 turns. Worm Drive Band Type Clamps
