To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter in support of Richard Rubin. Over the course of
the past year and a half, Mr. Rubin has proven himself to be a dedicated student and a very
capable music educator. His range of experiences would make him an ideal addition to any
music program.

Mr. Rubin was one of the first students I encountered and got to know at the University of
Arizona, and I have been consistently impressed with his sense of compassion and
thoughtfulness. He is a well-rounded educator with diverse teaching experiences, and both serve
him as an asset. I have no doubt that he will make not only a terrific teacher, but also a cordial
and welcome colleague.

Mr. Rubin’s experiences have provided additional opportunities for him to shine as an educator.
His teaching experiences have included several opportunities working with students with special
needs, both through a local church and through the Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques
(SALT) Center at the University of Arizona. These experiences are uncommon to see with music
educators and have provided Mr. Rubin with a range of techniques to use in future classroom
settings.

I have no doubt that Mr. Rubin will be a strong addition to your school community. He will excel
as a teacher and guide for your students, be a steadfast professional for your parents, and a
dedicated colleague for your employees. I strongly urge you to give Mr. Rubin every
consideration for this position. I would be happy to answer any further questions at
mlwilliams@email.arizona.edu or (520) 621-3394.

Sincerely,

Matthew Williams, Ph.D.
