a. Summary This article talks about how genetic testing is starting to be applied
for developing the correct treatment for mental illnesses in the US. Furthermore, it
explains in detail many companies who are advocating to physicians for this
genetic testing to be used in their offices. Specifically, they are advocating for a
test that determines bipolar disorder, while also focusing on the generalized
benefits of the test. Finally, it emphasizes that these tests can help a physician
determine the correct treatment plan, whether it is medicine or therapy, based on
their gene pool that they examine.
b. Credibility My article is an academic journal from The Brown University,
which is an ivy league school in the United States. What makes my article
credible is this article was peer reviewed by Lawrence H. Price, M.D. He is a
doctor, but also a researcher at Brown.

i. Does it support or contradict your LOI?
1. This article supports my LOI because it emphasizes the question I
am researching by providing evidence that physicians are starting
to become open minded about genetic testing. Furthermore, in this
article doctors are genetically testing a patient before diagnosis of
bipolar disorder, so they will have every piece of information in
order to give her the correct treatment. Also, this is evidence of
people recognizing that not every medicine or treatment will work
