Individual Presentations – General Brief

In Managerial Communication Workshop session, PGP-MC2-S-05, you will make an individual

presentation. This is a graded assignment and carries a weightage of 50% in your term
grade.

This note is a general brief for this graded presentation exercise. A specific brief indicating
the topic and managerial context of your presentation is being provided to you separately.

The allotted duration of your presentation is 4 (four) minutes. There will be a warning bell at
3 minutes and at 4 minutes you will face a hard stop. There will be no Q&A in this
presentation.

You are free to use a computer-generated slide show for this presentation. In addition, you
may also use the white board as well as issue any handouts if you wish to. However, please
note that all these have to be managed within your time limit of 4 minutes.

You are required to dress formally for this presentation. Appearance and grooming will be one
of the parameters for evaluation.

Two persons will evaluate your presentation: Your Instructor, and a Guest Evaluator who will
be invited for the occasion. Your presentation will be video-graphed and given to you as part
of the feedback process.

Your presentations will be graded on the following factors:

 Content, Structure, Sequence, Language, Tone

 Design & Use of Visual Aids
 Delivery (Appearance, Use of Voice & Body Language)
 Time Management

And as always, your evaluators will ask themselves the question:

‘If I were the specified target audience, how would I react to this presentation?’
