Alpha Delta Newsletter - - July – August 2018

LAMBDA STATE, ALPHA DELTA CHAPTER #28, Cook County, Illinois

Mission: The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional growth
of women educators and excellence in education.
Vision: Leading Women Educators Impacting Education Worldwide.

Dear Alpha Delta Members,

Congratulations to President Donna Soukup and all outgoing officers and committee chairs for a very
successful 2016-2018 biennium ! ! ! We appreciate all of their hard work and commitment to keep us
engaged, stimulated and proud to be Delta Kappa Gamma members.

As incoming president, I am excited and looking forward to talking and working with you as we continue
our strong Alpha Delta traditions and goals – great programs, projects and meetings. This summer, a
team of six members attended the Training for Chapter Leaders in Ottawa. We learned that Dr. Joan
Rog, Lambda State 2nd Vice President, will be our Ambassador. Also, your chapter executive board had
two meetings planned this summer to set our goals, plans, meeting dates and locations for the year.

In July, Dr. Barbara Martin and I attended the International Convention in Austin, Texas. The business
meetings were filled with many discussions before voting on the amendments to the Constitution and
Standing Rules. Our Society name, however, did NOT change! (Can you see my SMILE???)

We hope to have full participation at all DKG events - - chapter meetings, the annual Creative Arts
Retreat, the Technology and Legislative seminars , the Lambda State Convention in April, and the
Northeast Regional Conference which will be in Connecticut in July, 2019.

May you have a happy, cool, lazy and YES, productive summer. And - - we hope to see you at our fall
meeting!

Warmest regards,

Pat Gaines
