1. Why it is important to have glucose in our blood?

Brain cell requires continues glucose and oxygen. If glucose is absent brain cell dies.For this
reason glucose is important.

2. What is the normal level of blood glucose?

For someone without diabetes, a fasting blood sugar on awakening should be under 100
mg/dl. Before-meal normal sugars are 70–99 mg/d

3. How we can measure the glucose level?

We can measure our glucose level with the help of traditional home glucose monitoring. First
we prink our finger with a lancet, put a drop of blood on a test strip and then place the strip
into a meter that displays blood level. The device deliver the result within a very short time
and we need to store this information for future use.

4. What is hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia?


Hyperglycemia: Presence of abnormally high blood glucose level in the blood is known as
hyperglycemia.
Hypoglycemia: Presence of low blood glucose level in the blood is known as hypoglycemia.

5. Application of blood glucose testing in public health.

Importance of blood glucose testing in public health is very much. It helps us to find the
potential diabetic patient. And if the patient is diabetic then he/she will keep in touch with the
doctor.
