COMMUNITY BANK OF THE CHESAPEAKE’S MR.MICHEAL MIDDLETON

INDUCTED INTO MARYLAND BUSINESS HALL OF FAME

WALDORF, Md. (June 28, 2018)—Community Bank of the Chesapeake is pleased to announce
that Mr. Michael Middleton was recently inducted into the Maryland Business Hall of Fame. The
Ceremony was held at the Baltimore Hilton BWI Airport Hotel with Gov. Larry Hogan as the
keynote speaker. Mr. Middleton was one of three individuals inducted at this year’s ceremony.

The Maryland Business Hall of Fame was established in 2000 and currently has 50 honorees.
Inductees of the Hall of Fame are those that demonstrate and inspire outstanding leadership as
well as impact the community around them.

“I am proud to call this community my home,” said Michael Middleton, Chairman of the Board.
“It is where I grew up, raised my family, and grew my business. I have seen not only my
business grow and trice, but others as well. To have played a part in this community has been a
pleasure. I am honored to be inducted into the Business Hall of Fame. My commitment to this
community remains unwavering.”

This is not Mr. Middleton’s first time receiving a prestigious award, as he is very active
throughout the community. He has received several honors and awards over the years for his
individual and organizational service. One includes the Business Philanthropy Award form the
Archdiocese of Baltimore in partnership with the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and
Baltimore Business Journal. Another one is the Champion for Women Award presented by the
Maryland Bankers Association after his initiation of the Council of Professional Women in
Banking and Finance.

Mr. Middleton joined the bank in 1973. He became President and Chief Executive Officer in
1979. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board and continues to lead the bank towards
exceeding expectations. Mr. Middleton is a graduate for Bellarmine University with a Bachelor
of Arts in Accounting. He attained his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in
Finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.
Mr. Middleton continues to shadow those community values that his father had established when
opening the bank in 1950. Even as the bank continues to expand, one thing remains, the
community culture.
