I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. classify clothes and other clothing items people wear and use during sunny and
rainy weather
b. tell the importance of wearing proper clothes during sunny and rainy weather

B. Motivation
The class will play a PowerPoint interactive game called “Behind the Box”.

Behind the boxes is a picture of a sun and rain. The teacher will ask one question
and if the pupil gives the correct answer, one box will be removed. The pupil will be given
a chance to guess what is behind the box. The pupil who can guess the picture will be
given a prize.

Game 1 Questions:
1. What do people wear to protect their eyes? Answer: Sunglasses

C. Presentation
The teacher will say “There are two different weather conditions we experience
here in the Philippines: sunny weather and rainy weather. To protect us from heat and
cold, people wear and use different clothes for different weather conditions.”

D. Modelling
The teacher will show pictures of clothes and clothing accessories people wear and
use during sunny weather and during rainy weather using a dress up doll in a PowerPoint
presentation.

E. Guided Practice
The teacher will present a Venn Diagram. Each pupil-volunteer will pick one picture
of a clothing item and paste it under the column whether sunny, rainy or both.

G. Generalization
The teacher will ask the following questions:
What are the two types of weather?
What proper clothes or clothing items people wear and use during sunny
weather? Rainy weather?
Why is it important to wear proper clothes during sunny weather and rainy
weather?
What will happen if people will not wear and use proper clothes during sunny
and rainy weather?

H. Application
Group Activities

Group 1: Clothes Line


Materials: wooden pegs, 2 long strings, pictures: shirt, raincoat, jacket, shades,
sleeveless, boots, sweater, hat, shorts, long pants
Procedure:
1. The pupils will classify the pictures given if it is used during sunny weather
or rainy weather.
2. The pupils will hang the pictures on a clothesline using pegs. (One
clothesline for sunny, one for rainy)

Group 2: Weather Wheel


Materials: weather wheel, sunny pegs, rainy pegs
Procedure:
1. The pupils will identify each picture in the weather wheel.
2. The pupils will clip a sunny peg in the picture if it is used during sunny day,
and a rainy peg if it is used for a rainy day.

Group 3: Clothes Board Game


Materials: dice sun & rain, board game
1. There will be 5 players for this game.
2. Each player will roll the dice. Move the counter forward to the nearest
clothe appropriate for the weather shown in the dice. The next player rolls the
dice.

Group 4: Weather Chart


Materials: Two-column chart, pictures: shirt, raincoat, jacket, shades,
sleeveless, boots, sweater, hat, shorts, long pants
Procedure:
1. The pupils will classify the pictures given if it is used during sunny weather
or rainy weather.
2. The pupils will place each picture under the correct column.
IV. Independent Learning
Directions: Look at the pictures. Check the sun if the pictures is used during sunny
weather, and rain if it is used during rainy weather.
